Treatment
Treatment for cancer can be quite difficult to understand. The primary forms of treatment for cancer include surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. These treatment forms can be used individually or together depending on the cancer type.
We hope that these pages help to provide basic information on the different treatments available for cancer. The James E. Cary Cancer Center with the Hannibal Regional Hospital Cancer Committee proudly utilizes the Clinical Practice Guidelines of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) for the treatment of cancer. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network is a not-for-profit alliance of 21 of the world’s leading cancer hospitals. Always remember, refer any questions regarding cancer treatments to your oncologist. For more information on treatment guidelines, go to www.nccn.org.
