Hannibal Regional Auxiliary is pleased to offer a Pet Therapy Program to patients at the James E. Cary Cancer Center. The new pet therapy program was started by Hannibal Regional Auxiliary Member Mary Dunaway, and her golden retriever, Buddy. Mary and her golden retriever, Buddy, visit with patients on the first Wednesday afternoon of each month.  Mary and Buddy are certified through Pet Partners, which is the national leader in demonstrating and promoting positive human - animal interactions to improve the lives of those they serve. "He was the man," Dunaway said. "He is one of those kinds of dogs that are really by your side no matter what. Good times, bad times, he's right there".

If you would like more information on visiting with Buddy through the Pet Therapy Program please contact Belinda Krchelich, Oncology Patient Navigator at 573-406-5800.
