Our program takes an individualized approach and offers:

  • Individual coaching and counseling with a registered nurse;
    • Our American Lung Association-trained facilitators are available at each class session to answer questions and coach you through stopping smoking. All facilitators provide contact information for between-class support. Our facilitators are prepared to help you create a stop-smoking plan that will provide you with the support you need to successfully become a non-smoker.
  • Tobacco cessation classes and peer support;

    • Participants support each other by offering encouragement for quitting smoking.
    • Eight sessions of class cover every topic you need to become a non-smoker.
  1. Thinking about quitting - understand addiction and the benefits of quitting.
  2. On the road to freedom - lifestyle changes, reasons to stop smoking, and quit-smoking medication information.
  3. Wanting to quit - Create your plan to quit smoking and learn how to help a friend quit.
  4. Quit day - reward yourself.
  5. Winning strategies - what to do if you get off track.
  6. The new you - tips for staying smoke free, weight control and hunger.
  7. Staying off - activity and communication.
  8. Celebration - preventing relapse, celebrate change.
  • Information on nicotine replacement products; and

    • The Break Free - Freedom from Smoking program will provide you with a voucher good towards a free one-month supply of the smoking cessation medication you and your doctor choose. Working with your doctor, you can choose from a wide variety of options including Chantix, Nicotrol, Nicorette, nicotine patches, nicotine lozenges, or Wellbutrin.
  • Professional follow-up after the course conclusion.

    • One of our nurses will call you three weeks after all classes have ended to follow up and to provide support for continued success.
